Emily and Alex’s destination wedding at Grand Isle Resort in Exuma, The Bahamas was a glamourous affair. Emily and Alex met in high school and shared their first date over dinner before junior prom. Years later, Alex proposed with sweeping views over the beach. Exuma handed us her best: turquoise water, soft breeze, and that luminous Bahamian light. Marva Munroe from Chic Bahamas Weddings coordinated the day with calm, elegant precision, translating Emily’s vision into a refined celebration layered in blue, white, and green.
Getting Ready at the Grand Isle
Emily spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids—music playing, happy chatter, and the kind of laughter that settles nerves. Karin Knowles created a radiant, camera-ready glow while Asante styled Emily’s hair with soft, romantic movement. Her Tara Latour wedding gown was beautifully modern yet classic, paired with sparkling Betsey Johnson shoes for the perfect hint of play. Her bridesmaids slipped into elegant dresses from David’s Bridal, each one in tones that echoed the ocean outside. Alex got ready with his groomsmen with easy jokes, tie adjustments, and a few deep breaths, looking sharp in suits from Men’s Wearhouse. The energy was relaxed but excited, exactly how a wedding day should feel.
A Beachfront Jewish Ceremony
The ceremony took place right on the sand at Grand Isle Resort, with the sea stretching wide behind them and guests gathering close. Their traditional Jewish vows felt especially meaningful in this setting, sacred promises framed by sky and sea. As they exchanged rings, the breeze lifted the edges of Emily’s veil, and the ocean offered a soft applause. When the breaking of the glass came, cheers rose, and the celebration truly began.
Elegant Indoor Reception
The reception moved indoors: cool, elegant, and glowing. The blue-white-green palette continued in the florals and décor, keeping everything cohesive and elevated. Emily and Alex opened the evening with their first dance to “Your Song” by Elton John, swaying into the moment as if no one else was in the room. Toasts followed before the couple shared their first bite of cake from Take A Bite Bahamas
As the night drew to a close, guests lined the path with sparklers, filling the air with golden light. Emily and Alex ran through the glow, paused for a kiss in the shimmer, and disappeared into the Exuma night—married, celebrated, and surrounded by the people who love them most.
