Family time is something that I cherish as a working mother that travels frequently. I have only ever posted one personal blogpost and it was my first post back in my Blogspot days. However today is a special day in our house. Our eldest daughter Layla turned five today and that is a big deal. We prayed for her to come and at times we doubted that maybe parenthood wasn’t going to be for us. But God was telling us to be patient for an angel like her. So today, her sister Sadie, Doug, myself and all our family celebrate her. As a photographer, I am constantly encouraging others to create and capture their memories on film, so I took my own advice and did just that with my daughters.
Being a business owner comes with it’s own set of challenges but we thrive as a family. Last year after a year of growth business wise, I decided to take 6 weeks off and took the girls off to Europe to visit family and to get a little more exposure for them, as living on an Island with 30,000 people certainly has its limitations. We made wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime and It’s something I plan on doing yearly.
