Vintage Grand Bahama Beach Wedding

Grand Bahama wedding destination couple Michaela & Ryan met whilst working together in a country bar. At the end of a particularly long shift Ryan bought her a hotdog from a street vendor as they left work. They went on just one date before Michaela knew Ryan would be her boyfriend. Fast forward two weeks and they had moved in together and were eating grilled cheese sandwiches at midnight together. She says “the wiener won her heart!”

Planning their Bahamas destination wedding was made was easy when they hired Marva Munroe of Chic Bahamas Weddings to help bring their vision to life.

The couple from Ottawa, Canada chose Grand Bahama Island for their gorgeous vintage chic inspired beach wedding in the Bahamas and Pelican Bay’s Sabor Pool for low key, but still chic and romantic setting. We couldn’t have chosen a prettier spot.”

Thought was put into every little detail of the day.

Her wedding dress was completely custom made, and her shoes were by Badgley Mischka.   Kate Spade “Mrs” earrings were both stunning and the perfect little statement piece along with a Zara necklace and headpiece.  For her beautiful bridesmaids, she chose  mint infinity dresses from Etsy. Ryan (and the groomsmen) wore suits by Banana Republic, custom made ties and suspenders from Etsy, Sperry navy boat shoes, perfect for Bahamas beach weddings.

The bride sourced or created many of the décor including the candlesticks, which were handpicked from Canadian vintage stores, the beach bucket guest favours, and the shell ring holder. The chair signs were hand painted by an artist in Israel.  The invitation suite/menus were from Wedding Paper Divas.

The bride paid homage to her beloved grandmother by carrying a part of her wedding bouquet in hers, and also with a sign on one of the chairs that was specially made by one of the bridesmaids, who also created most of the signage at the wedding.
